2026 Workshops and Seminars
This year will be the 18th anniversary of THT Kyrgyzstan and it is shaping up to be another special event.Â
This year, the Kyrgyz Republic will again host the World Nomad Games, with the opening ceremony scheduled for August 31st in the capital of Bishkek. Traditional sporting and cultural events will be hosted in and around Cholpon-Ata.
THT Social and Cultural events leading up to the seminars will start on September 2 and finish on September 6th. The Kyrgyz seminars tentatively commence with the FORUM English Language Teachers’ Association of Kyrgyzstan seminar in Naryn on September 7th. Delegates travel back to Bishkek for our main two-day university seminar at Bishkek State University on September 10th and 11th. We conclude with another FORUM seminar on September 12th in the capital of Bishkek. Delegates are welcome to participate in as much or as little of the program as they like, according to their availability.
The theme for this year is: Communities of Practice: Learning from Each Other
If you have a Masters Degree or its equivalent in TESOL or a related field and are intrigued by sharing your ideas and expertise in Central Asia, contact delegate leader Brent Jones (bjones@konan-u.ac.jp) with at least three proposals. The focus should be on interactive workshops and poster presentations. Please be sure to indicate your available dates. You can also submit your proposals online via the Submission Form. The deadline for applying is July 5th.
